Position: Email Manager

Description: Position Summary:

The Email List Manager will manage end-to-end daily operational implementation and customer database for all email lists across F+W Media. This position will also be responsible for managing the delivery of email marketing campaigns across all products, sending over 15 million messages per month. The ideal candidate must have email operations and project management experience and be deeply committed to the goal of maximizing our email list structure and email deployments at a high level of efficiency and accuracy.

This person will be responsible for the consolidation of all email sources, helping to create and maintain our email database structure, the email production process, scheduling, reviews/approvals, deployment and communication with internal departments. This person will also manage the email calendar and interface with various teams requiring email support within F+W. This position requires a high-energy, highly organized, self-motivated individual with at least 3-5 years of email operations experience, project management skills, high detail-orientation and excellent written and verbal communication. This position reports to the Director of eCommerce who reports directly to the Executive Vice President of eMedia.

Essential Job Duties

• Manage email database and ensure accurate and complete information and consolidation of data
• Manage and own relationship with 3rd party email delivery provider, ensuring the successful implementation and management of business needs
• Own full process and delivery of email campaigns by required deadlines including group and list creation/management, creation of control/test groups, vigilant monitoring of email delivery and timely post send metrics
• Continually research and seek out more effective processes to improve overall programs and be able to effectively drive new operations initiatives successfully and efficiently through to conclusion
• Provide key performance indicator reports
• Act as primary team representative to various internal departments who rely on email marketing to advance their business needs
• Continually develop, measure and optimize campaign and portfolio testing
• Communicate and coordinate to resolve email delivery issues, meet project deadlines, troubleshoot on issues and ensure best practice implementation
• Automate repetitive processes to create an efficient, scalable email program
• Maximize inbox delivery while minimizing spam reports, monitoring email sends for bounce rates and blocks
• Track and stay current with industry best practices and trends, ensure CAN-SPAM compliance
• Manage overall email calendar
• Set up dynamic targeting and regular deployment guidelines
• Test all campaigns for accuracy and platform compatibility
• Work with Director of eCommerce and Executive Vice President, eMedia to create and implement email strategy in support of overall corporate audience development initiatives
Requirements:
• Minimum Level of Education:
- 4 Year College Degree, preferably in business field

• Minimum Years of and specific type of prior work experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience directly related to management and deployment of Email campaigns and operations

• Specific Skills/Abilities/Certifications
o ”Power User” Familiarity with SilverPop, ExactTarget, CheetahMail or other email service providers
o Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of CAN-SPAM and email law
o Expert in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
o Interpersonal skills to develop and strengthen relationships across job functionalities
o Exceptional attention to detail in executing complex projects and time-sensitive deliverables and high personal quality expectations
o Strong project and campaign management experience
o Strong writing and editing skills
o Knowledge of relational databases and HTML a plus
